Nils B. Pearson, Jr., 83, of Village St., Northford, died at his home on April 20. He was the husband of the late Margaret J. Wirth Pearson. Nils was born in New Haven on June 8, 1928, son of the late Nils B. Pearson, Sr. and Catherine Adams Pearson. He had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army and had worked for Amtrak for 44 years until his retirement. Nils was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by three children, Christine Maxson and her husband David of Palm Bay, Florida, Michael Pearson and his wife Laura of Northford, and Terrence Pearson of Nashua, New Hampshire; a brother, Gary Pearson of Northford; and a sister, Kathleen "Sandy" Taylor of East Haven. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sons, Eric Pearson and Nils B. Pearson III; a sister, Barbara Doebrick; and two brothers, John and Francis Pearson.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Monday, April 23, 10:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Monica's Church at 11 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery.
