    Rosemary Dowd Grestini, 67, New Haven

    Rosemary Dowd Grestini, 67, of Parker Place, New Haven, died in New Haven on May 14. She was the beloved wife of John E. Grestini. Rosemary was born in New Haven on June 18, 1944, daughter of the late Gerald and Mary DeLucia Dowd. She was an accomplished, self-taught piano player and was a very proud U.S. Army wife. She will long be remembered as a person who always kept a promise.

    Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Gina Giuliano and her fiancé Michael Alevy of New Haven, Tonia J. Speringo and her husband Louis of East Haven, and John Grestini, Jr. of New Haven; five grandchildren, Tabitha Giuliano, Tianna and Sophia Speringo and Alexandrea and Giavanna Grestini; and six siblings, Gerald Dowd of Milford, Patricia Proto of East Haven, Rosalind Leindorf of West Haven, Regina Helland of New Haven, Gabriel Esposito of Guilford, and Andrea Greenberg of Fairbanks, Alaska. She is also survived by her father-in-law, Nazzareno Grestini of Hamden, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Baker. 

    Her funeral procession will leave the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, on Friday, May 18, at 8:30 a.m., for a mass of Christian burial at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9 a.m.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
