    James Robert (Jim) Hartman, 74, North Haven

    James Robert (Jim) Hartman, 74, of North Haven, died on Aug. 2.  He was the husband of Marilyn O’Connor Hartman and son of the late John and Julia Miller Hartman, formerly of Meriden.  Upon graduation from the University of Hartford, Jim joined Pratt & Whitney and worked as a manufacturing and industrial engineer.  He also served as a vice president of the company’s Aircraft Club. 

    Jim was civically active in North Haven, his home for 48 years.  He was a founding member of the Peter’s Rock Association, past president and senator of the North Haven Jaycees, president of the North Haven Coordinating Council, and a member of North Haven’s Bicentennial Committee.  Jim loved to golf, jog, fish, and follow the Boston Red Sox. 

    Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Laura Fonicello and her husband Mark of Stafford Springs, Kathy Artusa and her husband Dean of Hamden, Sharon Morris and her husband Scott of Farmington, and James Hartman of West Hartford.  He is also survived by two brothers, John Hartman and his wife Ginger of Bristol and Philip Hartman and his wife Marge of Southington; six beloved grandchildren, Angelica and Dean Michael Artusa of Hamden, Megan and Joseph Fonicello of Stafford Springs, and Blaise and Nichole Morris of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Jane and her husband Dick Cerutti of Kensington. 

    His funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home on Aug. 6 for a mass of Christian burial at St. Therese Church, North Haven.  Burial was in All Saints Cemetery.
