Steven DiPier, 83, of Guilford, formerly of Madison, died at the West Haven Veteran’s Hospital on Aug. 6, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving friend of Virginia F. DiPier.  Steven was born in New Haven on Jan. 23, 1929, son of Pauline Raponi DiPierdomenico of Scottsboro, Alabama, and the late Louis DiPierdomenico.  He had served his country in U.S. Army during the Korean War and had also worked as the building official for the City of West Haven from 1982 to 1988. In addition, he was a builder and owner of the Steven DiPier Building Company.  Steven was a member (from 1969 to the time of his death) and past Master (in 1976) of the Mason Lodge of New Haven.

Besides Virginia and his mother, he is survived by his two loving daughters and friends, Luanne Eibon of Newton, New Jersey, and Lisa Smith of Scottsboro, Alabama; three grandchildren, Robert Eibon of Shohola, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Baldwin of Hamburg, New Jersey, and Amanda Eibon of Andover, New Jersey; and two great-grandchildren, Stella Baldwin and Aurora Eibon. He is also survived by his brother, Louis DiPierdomenico of Pennsylvania, and his brother “by choice,” Sam Grestini of West Haven.  

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
