    Bruno Ceccolini, 90, Branford

    Bruno Ceccolini, 90, beloved husband of 65 years to Ruth Sokolosky Ceccolini of Branford, died on Jan. 5 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Bruno was born in Stony Creek on Aug. 24, 1922, son of the late Bruno and Phyllis Locarno Ceccolini. He was a lifelong resident of Branford and was one of the first full time, paid firefighters in Branford at Company 8, Headquarters, where he also served as captain. He was also a member and past captain of Stony Creek Fire Rescue Company 5 for over 70 years. In addition, Bruno served as a deputy fire marshal in Branford and had worked for the Branford Public Works Department.

    Bruno was an avid Branford sports fan, attending countless games of his children and grandchildren over the years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends on the Branford Green and at the bocce courts at Branford Point, and he loved driving around Branford in his truck with his faithful dog "Mocha" by his side.

    Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Linda Wyers and her husband Joseph of Hamilton, New Jersey, Robert Ceccolini and his wife Deborah of Branford, and Gary Ceccolini and his wife Natalie of Ann Arbor, Michigan; his 10 grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, John and Harold Ceccolini, and his two sisters, Florence Cooke and Edith Doebrick.

    Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., and may attend a funeral service on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m., at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. Burial will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
