Janis (Marino) Tanner, 61, of Washington, New Hampshire, formerly of Madison, died at her New Hampshire home on Feb. 20 after a long illness. She was the wife of Thomas Tanner, Sr.  Janis was born on May 21, 1951, daughter of Justine Arena of Guilford and the late James Marino, Sr.  She had worked at Stop & Shop of Madison, as well as the Madison Beach and the Recreation Department for many years. She enjoyed living her Christian faith, arts and crafts, and cooking. She also enjoyed sharing and laughing with family and friends.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Thomas Tanner, Jr.; her daughter, Rene Jackowitz; her brother, James Marino, Jr. and his wife Lorraine; and her sister, Joann Marino. She is also survived by four nephews and three nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Kenny Jackowitz.

A mass of Christian burial was held on March 2 at St. Mary Parish, Hillsboro, New Hampshire.
