Lois F. Price, 86, of Madison, formerly of Fort Myers, Florida, died on May 27 at the Hearth at Tuxis Pond in Madison. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Joe Price. Born in Cumberland, Maryland, on Dec. 12, 1926, Lois was the daughter of the late Carleton W. and Bessie (Spiker) Hanks.

Lois graduated from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Maryland in 1942. She was the bookkeeper for her husband’s dental practice for many years, and was very proud of taking care of her family and her home, which they made in Lanham, Maryland prior to retirement. She loved to write poetry, especially about her many friends. Lois was a very caring and selfless person always putting others first. She exuded graciousness and goodwill, and will be sadly missed. 

Besides her husband of 67 years, she leaves her three sons Dr. Gary Price of Madison, Wayne Price of Arlington, Virginia, and Eric Price of Naples, Florida. Lois is also survived by her grandchildren Dr. Lauren O. Price of Madison, Morgan Price of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Erica Price of Dallas, Texas, and Kyle Price of Naples, Florida.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 6 p.m. in Ocean City, Maryland at 123rd Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. The Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Road, is in charge of arrangements.
