Elaine Ann Cunneen, 71, died July 14 at the Masonicare Hospice in Wallingford. Elaine was born Jul. 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Frank Lucia and Mary (Lorusso) Lucia.

She graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1960. Elaine helped found The Cunneen Company, a national consulting firm, where for more than 20 years she employed her gifts for making customer service not just a catch phrase, but a personal relationship.

Elaine "lived out loud," with a deep love for her family, an irrepressible joy in life, and a heart overflowing with generosity. Her love and example will be forever cherished by her sons, James Cunneen of Guilford and John Cunneen of Woodbridge; two daughters-in-law, RoseAnn and Cheryl; her adoring grandchildren; Megan, Caitlyn, Lauren, Hollis, Cashlyn, Sadie and Quinn Cunneen, her mother Mary Lucia of Williamsville, New York and brother Thomas Lucia of Amherst, New York.

The family will hold a private Catholic service and burial at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Clancy Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, on Thursday, July 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Elaine Cunneen may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital Fund at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
