    Arthur Leslie Berdensey of Chester

    Arthur Leslie Berdensey of Chester died Aug. 9 at Hartford Hospital. Born on March 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Leslie Berdensey and Ruth Kessell Berdensey. Arthur grew up in Deep River. He graduated from Valley Regional High School in 1965, and worked at Turbo Products for 36 years before retiring at age 55. He enjoyed archery and was an avid hunter, as well as a bow hunting instructor. After retiring, he and his wife traveled on his Goldwing motorcycle with the Midstate Navigators Goldwing Club to various parts of the Northeast and as far south as Kentucky.

    He leaves behind his loving wife Merry Greeney Berdensey, his three daughters Gwendolyn and her husband Donald Johnson of Ivoryton, Gretchen and her husband Edward Watson of Norwich, and Genine and her significant other Michael Kuehn of Higganum, as well as his granddaughter Caitlin Tourgee of Ivoryton. He also leaves behind his partner in crime and best friend Peter Atkins of Deep River, and many friends he made along the way from the Midstate Navigators Goldwing Club.     The family would like to extend their deepest thanks and gratitude to all the staff on Bliss 10 East, Bliss 10 I, and Bliss 9 I for their excellent care and compassion during his stay there. They not only provided clinical expertise and warm smiles but much-needed support during a difficult time.

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main Street in Centerbrook. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Fountain Hill Cemetery, High Street in Deep River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester Hose Company, P.O.
