    Gerard R. Routhier, 86, Westbrook

    Gerard R. Routhier, 86, of Westbrook, died Aug. 16 at St. Raphael’s Hospital. He was born Oct. 10, 1926 in Fall River, Massachusetts to the late Jean-Baptiste and Bernadette P. (Carrier) Routhier.

    A veteran of World War II, Gerard served in the Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946. He then worked at Stanley Bostitch in Clinton for more than 35 years before retiring. Throughout his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and reading the newspaper. He will be missed by all who knew him.

    Gerard leaves behind his wife of 57 years Marguerite (St. Martin) Routhier; his two sons Gerard A. Routhier of Westbrook and Shawn A. Routhier of San Jose, California; two daughters Kathleen M. Lahn and her husband of West Haven and Renee A. Routhier of Deep River; and his granddaughter Carissa M. Lahn of West Haven.

    Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Westbrook, followed by a Mass of Christian burial. Burial with military honors will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of Girard may be made to St. Mark’s Walk with Haiti or to St. Mark’s Food Pantry, 222 McVeagh Rd., Westbrook, CT 06498.
