Harold J. 'Hap' Bellmore, 89, Guilford
Harold J. “Hap” Bellmore, 89, of Guilford, beloved husband of the late Joan O’Hara Bellmore, died Sept. 23 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 11, 1923 in New Haven to the late Frederick and Catherine Gill Bellmore.
Harold served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps. He then worked for the New Haven Country Club for several years before his retirement.
He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 3928, a founding member of the North Guilford Archery Club, and an avid hunter and golfer.
He is survived by his son Hal Bellmore of Durham; and his daughters Claire Mongillo of Woodbridge and Cynthia Bellmore of Guilford. He was predeceased by his son Steven A. Bellmore; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford. Burial with military honors will follow in Nut Plains Cemetery, Guilford.
