Robert M. Jarett, 66, of Wallingford, died Sept. 29 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Mr. Jarett was born June 19, 1947 in East Orange, New Jersey to the late Margaret Ericsson Jarett.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Following his military service, Bob worked in a variety of industries and capacities. Most recently, he was contracted by leading financial firms to serve as an official representative notary at real estate closings. 

Bob was known for his kindheartedness and giving nature toward others. He was an avid fan of horse racing, and all things culinary. 

Bob is survived by his two daughters, Debra Jarett Redburn and her husband Mark of Lansing, Michigan and Erin Jarett Thazhampallath and her husband Geen of Middletown; his grandsons Noah Robert, Joshua and Eli Thazhampallath; his former wife Diane Gustin Jarett of East Haven; his nephew William Jarett of West Haven; and his devoted canine companion, Mad Cap. Bob was predeceased by his son Robert Jarett; and his brother Arthur W. Jarett.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial with military honors in Center Cemetery, Branford. The W.S.
