Natalie M. Farrell, 88, of Branford, wife of 62 years to John J. Farrell, died peacefully Oct. 3 in New Haven with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Francis M. Ryan and Mary A. Farrelly-Ryan. Blessed with the Irish “gift of gab,” she is remembered for her kindness, wit and unwavering devotion to faith and family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Dorothy; three sons, John and his wife Deborah of Guilford, Thomas and his wife Donna, and Michael and his wife Susan Farrell; one daughter, Mary Farrell-Rachun and her husband Alexander; eight grandchildren, Diana and her husband David, Keyen, Michael A., Caitlin and her husband Anthony, Matthew, Michael T., Stephen, and Elizabeth; and a great-grandson, Brady-Jack, who brought special joy to her in the last four months. She was predeceased by her son Joseph; and two sisters, Mary Jane and Agnes.

A private funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 8 at St. Mary’s Church, Branford. A celebration of her life is planned for December, details to follow.
