Rosalie Jean (Moscarillo) Piontkowski, 84, of Boscawen, New Hampshire, formerly of Old Saybrook, wife of 58 years to the late Carl F. Piontkowski, died Oct. 7 surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 11, 1929 in Torrington to the late Mark Moscarillo and Anne (Radich) Moscarillo.

Rosalie was raised in Torrington and summered in Old Saybrook. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle in 1949 and taught in Chicago, Illinois, and in Essex. Throughout her life she had an appreciation for art, music and flowers. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her four sons, Carl Brian Piontkowski of Laconia, New Hampshire, Paul Kevin Piontkowski of Alexandria,Virginia, Mark Edward Piontkowski of Old Saybrook, and John Fredrick Piontkowski of New Canaan; a daughter, Wendy Anne Kazel of Las Vegas, Nevada; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Frank Moscarillo and Thomas Moscarillo.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 11 from 6 -8 p.m. at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. in St John’s Church, 161 Main Street, Old Saybrook. The Swan Funeral Home, Old Saybrook, is in charge of arrangements.
