Pauline Cassesse Friend, 71, of Daytona Beach, Florida, formerly of Clinton, wife of Chez Friend, died suddenly Oct. 10 in Daytona Beach. She was born May 30, 1942 in New Haven to the late Mary (Monico) and Anthony Sparano. She lived in Clinton for 25 years, where she worked as a hairdresser before moving to Florida.

She is survived by her sisters Carmel Mendillo and her husband Frank, and Frances Ciancola; brother Anthony Sparano and his wife Marie; her sons Richard Cassesse, Jr., and his wife Lisa and Robert Cassesse and his wife Tracy; her daughters Lisa Cassesse Smith and Michelle Cassesse and her husband Matt; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Burial services were held in Daytona, Florida, where her children reside.
