Dorothy A. Nygard, 76, of Branford, died Oct. 31 after a long illness. She was born to the late Carl and Florence Nygard. Dorothy lived in Branford for her entire life, and was a lifelong member of Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford, and an associate member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven. Throughout the years, she worked as a bookkeeper at several area businesses.

Dorothy is survived by her sister Joan and her husband Robert deLaubell; her nephew Robert deLaubell, Jr., and his wife Janet and their children Alyssa, Benjamin and Conner; her niece Janice Morris and her husband Kevin and their children Kevin, Ryan, Patrick, and Colin; her aunt Alyce Kropf; cousin Carol Burns; and other dear cousins and friends.

Friends are invited to a funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Tabor Lutheran Church, Branford, followed by burial in Tabor Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.
