    Anne Corroon Grubbs, 55, Madison

Anne Corroon Grubbs, 55, of Madison, died Nov. 5 after a persistent illness.

Anne attended Holy Child School in Rye, New York as a girl and graduated from Rosemont College in Pennsylvania in 1979. She had a long and successful business career including Manufacturers Hanover Trust and TIAA-CREF. In the latter capacity she was a much-travelled relationship manager and generator of new business.

Her ability to immediately connect with people proved of great benefit to her in both business and social settings. She was one of the rare people about whom it could be said “when she walks into a room, she lights it up.” Although she made Madison her home for only one year, she made many friends in the shore area. She will be profoundly missed by them all, including the membership of the Madison Winter Club.

She is survived by her parents Lawrence and Constance Corroon of Rye, New York; her sister Claire Corroon; brother Daniel Corroon; and her beloved friend Peter Hargraves.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, 24 Academy Street, Madison, followed by a reception at the Madison Winter Club, 251 Boston Post Road, Madison.
