Barbara Bauman Hetzel, 102, of North Haven, wife of the late Roderick Hetzel, died Nov. 14 at Hamden Health Care Center. She was born May 5, 1911 in New Haven to the late Samuel and May Boyce Bauman.

She worked as a secretary for the State of Connecticut. She was a parishioner of the North Haven Congregational Church, and an avid golfer and swimmer.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Hamden Health Care Center for the wonderful and special care given to Barbara.

She is survived by her nephews Douglas Bauman and his wife Ann, Welles Bauman and his wife Lucille, and David Hetzel and his wife Nancy; many great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Douglas Bauman, and her sister Janice Bauman.

Funeral services were held Nov. 18 at the North Haven Funeral Home, followed by interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
