Paul J. Munzu Sr., 82, of East Haven, beloved husband of 60 years to Elaine Cook Munzu, died peacefully Nov. 16 at home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born May 6, 1931 in New Haven to the late Eugene and Josephine Rebeschi Richie.

He worked for the Town of East Haven Public Works Department for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed reading the bible, and was a member of the Christian Layman Group for 40 years. 

He is survived by his children Dawn Munzu, Paul J. Munzu, Jr., and Gloria Reis; siblings Eugene Munzu and his wife Barbara, Philip Riccio, Jean Carboni, and Dora and her husband Mark Tremley; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Munzu; sister Anita Francis; daughters Carole Ammann and Susan Recca; and two infant daughters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Interment will follow in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
