Elizabeth Japp Fox, 85, of Guilford, wife of the late Florian A. Fox, died peacefully Nov. 16 at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born Dec. 5, 1927 in Stratford to the late Everett and Harriet Japp of Bridgeport.

She was a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church of Guilford, belonged to the Leetes Island Garden Club, and served as president there for several years, and was a member of the Madison Winter Club. She also volunteered at the Hole in the Wall Thrift Shop, which supports Guilford ABC. In her earlier years she was very active in the Guilford Keeping Society, the Guilford Lioness Club and the Dorothy Whitfield Society. 

She is survived by two devoted daughters, Beth Moffat and her husband David of Guilford and Marjorie Shampain and her husband Robert of Wethersfield; her grandsons John Moffat of Guilford, Kevin Moffat of Gales Ferry, and Joshua Shampain of Wethersfield; her brother Dr. John Japp and his wife Norma of Carlisle, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Lucile Riviere of Tampa, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her sister Marjorie DuBois and her husband Arthur J. DuBois.  

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 100 Broad St, Guilford. Burial will be private.
