Harold D. Drake, 92, of Wethersfield, formerly of Northford, husband of the late Margaret T. McDermott Drake, died peacefully Nov. 23 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Harold was born Jan. 12, 1921 in East Millinocket, Maine to the late David and Dora Cameron Drake.

He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II, and worked for McDermott Steel and Berlin Steel. He was a member of Iron Workers Union Local #424.

Harold was an avid golfer and reader, and a member of the Wethersfield Senior Center and Hope Christian Church. 

He is survived by his daughter Marsha and her husband Donald Mellon; sons Frank Drake and his wife Kathleen and Paul Drake and his wife Diane; siblings Kenneth Drake and his wife Sally, Margie and her husband Millard Wardwell, Geraldine and her husband Russell Archer, Sharon and her husband Leon Bailangbon, and Rodney Drake and his wife Noreen; three grandchildren; and a step-grandson. He was predeceased by his son David Drake; and siblings Elaine, Audbur, and Flora Drake.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. at Northford Cemetery, Foote Hill Rd, Northford. There will be no visiting hours.
