    Santina 'Sally' (Calamari) O'Neill, 93, Chester

    Santina “Sally” (Calamari) O’Neill, 93, of Chester, beloved wife of the late Thomas J. O’Neill, died Nov. 26 at Chesterfields Healthcare Center in Chester. Sally was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Cervani) Calamari. She graduated from Chester High School in 1938 and attended the Morse School of Business in Hartford.

    Sally worked for many years as a secretary for the Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley, and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Parish, where she belonged to St. Ann’s Guild. Sally was very active in the Chester Alumni Association and volunteered for many years with Meals On Wheels.

    Sally’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Chesterfields for the loving care that their mother received for the past 14 years.

    Sally is survived by her children Dr. Brian O’Neill and his wife Cynthia of Haddam and Nancy (O’Neill) Mcgee and her husband Bob of Deep River; her sister Kitty Fuller of Chester; grandchildren Sharon and Daniel O’Neill; and Thomas and Mary Mcgee; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, who predeceased her in 1987, Sally was predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Joseph and Augustine Calamari; and a sister, Mary Tracy.

    Visiting hours will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St Joseph’s Church, Chester. Interment will follow in Fountain Hill Cemetery.
