Evelyn Irene Argyros, 87, of Madison, passed away Jan. 11, 2014 at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late John N. Argyros and devoted mother of Nicholas John Argyros and his wife Josie and Louis C. Argyros and his wife Rhonda of Arizona. Evelyn was born March 11, 1926 to Catherine and Charles Clore, and was the 12th of 14 predeceased siblings, Art, Burt, Florence, Julia, Kate, Harry, Lillian, Lindy, and Frank.

Evelyn was multiple times past president of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW post 2096. She enjoyed bowling, cards, bingo, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, nieces, a nephew, great- grandchildren, and many friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, 29 Academy Street, Madison. Burial will take place privately.
