Carl Francis Sacco, Sr., passed away Feb. 5 in New York City. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 1, 1946 to Peter and Lucy Musumeci Sacco. He served his country in the U.S. Army. When his military service was complete, he relocated to Long Island, where he raised his family of seven children. He was an avid fisherman who loved to cook for his family and friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the physicians and staff of New York University Hospital for the loving care Carl received.

Carl is survived by his mother Lucy of Old Saybrook; his siblings Alfred of Brooklyn, New York, Joseph of Clinton, Stephen of Westbrook, and Lucyann of Old Saybrook; as well as his children Janine Sacco Voira of East Haven, and Joanne, Carl, Danielle, Joseph, Dina, and Michelle Sacco of Long Island; his granddaughter Gabriella Voira; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Long Island. Burial will take place in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
