Adeline Stella Sherwin, 95, of Old Saybrook, passed away Feb. 6. She was born in Hartford and was a graduate of Hartford High School. Adeline was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John J. Sherwin, who died in 1998. Adeline is survived by her son Bruce J. Sherwin and daughter-in-law Maggie of Venice, Florida; grandson Bruce Sherwin, Jr., (Sara) of Woodinville, Washington; grandson Ryan P. Sherwin of Guilford; great-grandson Bruce Sherwin, III; and great- granddaughter Adeline Sherwin.

Adeline was known to her friends and family as Addie. She and her husband John lived in Newington for many years, where John was a residential developer and Addie had a successful career as a real estate broker, investor, and company owner. In addition to her work, Addie was an avid collector of American antiques.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford. Burial will take place in Newington at a later date.
