Harry Schwartz, 76, of East Haven passed away March 24 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born August 10, 1937, in New Haven to Max and Alice (Shippy) Schwartz. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Barbara Sayers and Jean Rae Bonaldo.

Harry is survived by loving wife of 52 years Jean (Walsh) Schwartz and six children: Audrey Elder of East Haven, Jay Schwartz (Deborah) of North Haven, Scott Schwartz (Pamela) of West Haven, Bill Schwartz (Sharon) of Meriden, Dan Schwartz (Myra) of Louisiana, and Cliff Schwartz of Branford. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a sister Jennie Deegan of West Haven.

Harry (Butch) was retired from the State of Connecticut D.O.T after 26 years of service. He also worked at New Haven ambulance as an EMT, was a driver for My Ride, and had been a volunteer firefighter for East Haven. He was a hardworking man who took good care of his family. After retirement he took much interest in camping, gardening, and woodworking. He will be dearly missed by many.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 2, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 70 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Funeral services are in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
