    Meredith M. Thompson, 70

    Guilford

    Meredith M. Thompson, 70, of Guilford died in her home on March 30. Meredith was born in Jefferson City, Missouri, on October 6, 1943, the eldest of three children and daughter of the late Orville George Wallau and Marie Zickel Wallau. She was the mother of Michelle Thompson of Guilford. She is also survived by her brother H. Joseph Wallau III and niece Lori Meckstroth, both of Overland Park, Kansas, and a nephew Christopher Wallau of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

    Meredith earned her B.S. degree in mathematics and computer science from Florida International University and worked at Yale New Haven Hospital for almost twenty years with Management Information Systems. She was a member of Mensa and enjoyed hiking, skiing, bowling, and playing softball with the M.I.S.Fitz. Meredith volunteered with the Special Olympics.

    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitefield St., Guilford, on April 5 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow Mass in St. George Cemetery, Hubbard Rd., Guilford, with a reception at Branford Evangelical Free Church, 231 Leete’s Island Rd. in Branford. Friends and family may call on Friday April 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford.
