George Edward White, 82, husband of Adrienne White, died on May 6 at his home in North Branford. George was born June 16, 1931, in New York City, son of the late Arthur Henry and Mary Harkins White.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952 aboard the U.S. Albermarle. He worked for American Airlines for 41 years as a sales manager until his retirement in 1993. He was an accomplished baseball player and an avid Yankee fan, and he enjoyed tennis, golfing, and sailing during his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Adrienne; his three children Joanne White, John White, and Peter White; and his brothers Richard White of New York, and Thomas White of Florida. He was predeceased by his sister Joan and his brothers Robert and Arthur.

A Memorial Mass will be held on May 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in North Branford. Immediately following this service, family and friends are invited to his home in North Branford.
