Alvina Clancey “Allie” Golkowski, 81, of Branford, entered into the waiting arms of the Lord June 11 at Connecticut Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Wesley Golkowski. Allie was born November 9, 1932, in New Haven, daughter of the late John and Helen Morris Clancey.

She grew up in West Haven and attended UConn. Allie was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn Women Huskies fan.

She leaves her children Heidi (Paul) Kehlenbach of Northford, Diane (Ron) Yanyac of Old Saybrook, John and David Golkowski of Tucson, Arizona, and Todd Golkowski of Denver, Colorado; her sisters Crystal (Don) Vogt of Guilford, and Maureen C. Jackson of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and her brother John (Gayle) Clancey of West Haven. She was as devoted to her 14 grandchildren as they were to her. She was predeceased by her sons Stephen and Thomas Golkowski and her brother Robert Clancey.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial Mass of Christian burial June 13 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, North Branford. There are no calling hours.
