    Dominic F. Longo, 79, Branford

    Dominic F. Longo, 79, of Branford, died July 18 at his home. He was the beloved husband for more than 50 years of Charlene Hayes Longo. Mr. Longo was born March 16, 1935, in New Haven, son of the late Francis and Antoinette Longo.

    He was a retired teacher, having taught at East Haven High School; he then went on to Gateway Community College, where he retired as an Assistant Dean. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford. He was also a member of the Elm City Gun Club, the Branford Yacht Club, and the Canoe Brook Senior Center. Mr. Longo was a pilot and he also enjoyed flying RC planes with the “Swamp Flyers.”

    Besides his wife, he is survived by his children David (Rhonda) Longo of Branford, and Maria Longo of East Haven; his granddaughter Shoshanna Longo; his sister Vera DePalma of Branford; and his brother John Longo of Rhode Island.

    Friends may call July 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and may attend a funeral service July 24 at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, Branford. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Branford.
