John F. Bergami, 65, a longtime resident of Madison, passed away peacefully on Aug. 21 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on St. Patrick’s Day, 1949, in New Haven to the late Fredrick Louis Bergami and Rosina Ripani Bergami.

He is survived by his son John J. Bergami, his son Mark D. Bergami, his daughter Coreen M. Bergami, and his grandson John Anthony Bergami. He is also survived by his sisters Loretta Delucia, Claudette Glassman, and Elisa Predom.

John was loved and cherished by Jean Sciongay and Elizabeth Molle. He was a proud member of the Westbrook Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, and the Shoreline Sailing Club. John was also proud of his service in the U.S. Navy. He had a passion for fishing and boating.www.GuilfordFuneralHome.com.

Calling hours were held Aug. 25 at the Guilford Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Aug. 26. Burial followed in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Hammonasset, P.O. Box 271, Madison, CT 06443.
