Joan (Altmannsberger) Corcoran, 82, of Branford, passed away Sept. 26 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was born Jan. 16, 1932, in New Haven to William and Marie (China) Altmannsberger.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John D. Corcoran, and her niece Lisa Altmannsberger. Joan is survived by nieces and nephews Nancy, John, Shelley, Joan, and Robert; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was a retired employee of U.S. Steel with more than 30 years of service as a clerk.

A private graveside funeral service will be held at Center Cemetery in Branford. Arrangements are in the the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven.
