Ledyard - Jenny Nohara had 32 assists and Ari Fustini added 13 kills as the Ledyard girls' volleyball team beat Fitch on Monday, 19-25, 25-9, 25-9, 25-9, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division match.

It was just the second time that Ledyard lost a game.

Michelle Klinikowski had nine kills, four aces and four blocks for the Colonels (9-0, 4-0).

Mae Sefransky had 20 assists, Taylor Kelsey had 10 kills and Michelina Pinto had 14 digs for the Falcons (5-4, 1-3).

In other matches:

• Waterford remained unbeaten in the ECC Medium Division with a 25-15, 19-25, 25-14, 25-13 win over Bacon Academy. Amanda Tourjee had 28 assists for the Lancers (5-4, 4-0) while Jill Sykora added 20 digs, Sarah Pacheco nine kills and five aces and Lexi Moger nine kills.

• Brianne Brennan had 11 kills and nine digs as Norwich Free Academy beat Woodstock Academy 25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19 in the ECC Large. Camille McKenzie had 14 digs for NFA (7-3, 2-2) and Alyssa Veles had 10 kills.

• East Lyme improved to 8-2 with a 3-0 victory over Killingly. Savahna Johnson had six service points and four kills for the Vikings and Taylor Kerpen added five service points and five digs.

• Maggie Tarbox had 37 assists and three aces as Lyman Memorial beat Montville, 25-15, 25-15, 25-17, in the ECC Small. Gabby Iaconiello had 23 digs for Montville (4-4, 2-2) and Courtney Rail added three aces.

• Kaitlyn Mitchell had 17 service points, 10 aces and three kills to highlight Norwich Tech's 25-21, 25-11, 25-7 win over Prince Tech in the Constitution State Conference. Anna Hammar added five kills and one block and Amanda Oatley 13 service points and four aces for the Warriors (4-6, 4-3).

• Classical won the final two sets to pull out a 25-22, 21-25, 25-9, 25-17 win over Grasso Tech in the CSC. Kierra Sebastian had 17 service points and two blocks to lead the Eagles while Pam Oliveras added four service points, three aces, two digs and two kills and Kiela Lastraglio had six service points.

• Megan Astley had 19 digs and four kills, but Old Lyme was beaten by East Hampton 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 in the Shoreline Conference. Holly Fiscus added 10 assists for the Wildcats.

Boys' soccer

• Quameron Mendez-Neff had a goal and an assist as Norwich Tech downed Putnam, 7-3, in the Constitution State Conference East game. Chad Holmes, Preston Minor, Mac Osais, Josh Ries and Justin and Nick Brown all scored for the Warriors (2-5, 2-4).

• Nate Peduzzi had two goals for Old Lyme as it shutout Morgan of Clinton, 2-0, in the Shoreline Conference. Alex Clippinger and Rowan Hallahan both had assists for the Wildcats (4-1-2) and Spencer Saunders added five saves. Kevin Pojos had six saves for the Huskies (3-4).

Girls' soccer

• Jess Muller scored with 27:09 remaining in the first half as Wheeler edged New London, 1-0. Jess Morgan had eight saves for Wheeler (4-4). Jada Lucas had 16 saves for the Whalers (0-7).

• Karen Meza scored three times for Windham Tech in its 4-3 win over Grasso Tech in a CSC East game. Samantah Martinez had a goal and an assist for Grasso (2-5) and Abby Rabon and Kedy Tirado both scored.

College honors

• Coast Guard Academy sophomores Joe Rizzardi and Tyler Henning were honored by the New England Football Conference for their performances in the Bears' 37-20 win over Nichols on Saturday. Rizzardi, who returned a pair of first-half interceptions for touchdowns, was named Defensive Player of the Week while Henning was named Special Teams Player of the Week after making all three field goal attempts (33, 26 and 32 yards) and converting all four extra points.

• Niantic's Brian Gencarelli, a sophomore at Worcester State, was named Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Lancers defeate Mass Maritime 64-63. The cornerback, making his first college start, had 11 tackles (eight solo) and a pair of interceptions.

• Lesley's Danielle Johnson, a junior setter from Waterford, was named New England Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 15. Johnson had 85 assists and 23 digs during four matches, including a season-high 29 assists against Wentworth.
