Conn College wins consolation game at Great Northern Shootout

Joe Birmingham's goal 11:35 into the third period lifted the Connecticut College men's hockey team to a 1-0 win over Middlebury on Saturday in the consolation game of Norwich University's Great Northern Shootout.
Joe Giordano assisted on the goal and Tom Conlin made 33 saves for the Camels (1-3-1), who were outshot 33-25.
Conn fell to Norwich University in Friday's semifinal, 3-0. Kevin Salvucci had two goals and Tyler Piacentini had to assists for Norwich. Conlin had 34 saves for Conn, which was outshot 37-18.
