Gambler charged with passing counterfeit bills

Mohegan - A New York man was arrested Wednesday night after police said he was allegedly passing counterfeit money at a gaming table at Mohegan Sun Casino.
Pei Xiang Tie, 53, of Flushing, was charged with first-degree forgery.
Police said that Tie was passing counterfeit $100 bills at a Mini Baccarat table game.
Based on the examination of money drop boxes and surveillance camera video, police determined that $1,700 in counterfeit $100 bills had been passed.
The money was seized, and Tie was arrested without incident.
He was being held on a $5,000 cash bond, pending his arraignment today at Norwich Superior Court.
