Waterford police arrest man who allegedly pointed gun at health care worker

Waterford — An East Lyme man was arrested by town police on Wednesday after he allegedly pointed a gun at a health care worker at the Bayview Health Care Center.

William Glowacki, 69, of 17 Jo-Ann St., Niantic, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, threatening and breach of peace.

Police said that Glowacki allegedly pointed the gun at the worker over issues that stemmed from the care of a person he was visiting at the center.

He then fled the Rope Ferry Road facility and was later apprehended while driving in East Lyme. East Lyme police detained Glowacki before he was arrested by Waterford police.

Glowacki was released from police custody on the promise to appear in court and appeared Thursday in New London Superior Court. He is next scheduled to appear in court on June 21. An administrator at the health care center declined comment on the incident and would not say whether Glowacki has been banned from the facility.
