Police: Clinton man stole $50,000 in jewelry from Old Lyme home

Old Lyme – Police say a Clinton man stole more than $50,000 in jewelry from a Lyme Street home where he worked for several months as a carpenter.
After an investigation, police charged Russell Stone, 30, of 90 High St., Clinton, with first-degree larceny.
Police said Stone worked as a carpenter at 20 Lyme St. for several months. During that time, police said Stone stole more than $50,000 in gold and silver jewelry and other items from the homeowner.
Stone was arrested on a warrant Aug. 29 and held in lieu of $10,000 bond. Stone is scheduled to appear Sept. 13 in New London Superior Court.
