    Waterford man wanted in Groton taken into custody at La Guardia Airport

    Groton — Town police charged a Waterford man Friday with numerous charges relating to domestic violence incidents in 2011.

    Gerard M. Perron Jr., 42, of 26 Stone St., Waterford, was taken into custody on Feb. 6 by New York Port Authority Police at La Guardia Airport in Flushing, N.Y., after he arrived on an international flight.

    Friday, Groton Town detectives, who had obtained 10 warrants for Perron's arrest, extradited him from New York.

    Perron was charged with eight counts of violation of a protective order, two counts of first-degree harassment, six counts of second-degree threatening, five counts of second-degree harassment, one count of breach of peace, one count of first-degree failure to appear in court and one count of second-degree failure to appear in court.

    Perron was held in lieu of a $400,000 in bond and is scheduled to appear Tuesday in New London Superior Court.
