    Man charged with robbing teen at knifepoint

    New London — City police arrested a 19-year-old man they said robbed a teenage male at knifepoint Monday night in the vicinity of Colman Street and Garfield Avenue.

    The victim suffered minor cuts on his neck but did not require medical attention, police said.

    The alleged assailant, Malik Nunn, of 56 Coachman Pike, Mashantucket, was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $75,000 bond until his arraignment in New London Superior Court.

    According to police, the victim told them he was walking on Colman Street when Nunn pushed him against a wall, held a knife to his throat and stole cash and other items from him. The victim then managed to escape. Police were dispatched to the area at 9:07 p.m.
