Norwich firefighters quickly extinguish porch fire
Norwich — City firefighters early this morning quickly extinguished a porch fire at a home at 9 Edgewood Ave.
Battalion Chief Tracy Montoya said the fire was reported around 12:22 a.m.
He said when fire crews arrived there were flames shooting from the porch, porch roof and siding.
The three occupants of the home safely got out of the house. No injuries were reported.
Montoya said the fire was contained to the porch and did not extend to the interior of the house.
The fire was under control in about 35 minutes, he said.
He said the occupants of the house were not displaced as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
