Norwich — One home sustained minor damage from a brush fire Tuesday off Laurel Hill Avenue.
Laurel Hill Fire Department Chief Aaron Westervelt said the fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. and contained to a small area. Its rapid spread had threatened several homes in the vicinity of 563 Laurel Hill Ave. The siding on one home was melted from the heat, he said.
Firefighters used foam and water to extinguish the fire. The Norwich Fire Department sent one engine and a forestry unit for aid. No injuries were reported.
