Lisbon - A local man was arrested Wednesday on charges that he was in possession of heroin.

Mark A. Klauer, 49, of 28A Ethel Acres, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

For the past month, the Statewide Narcotics Task Force- East Office along with the Norwich Police Department were conducting an investigation into the illegal sale of heroin from Klauer’s residence.

Police on Wednesday executed a search and seizure warrant at the residence. Police said they found 1 gram of heroin packaged for sale, packaging material and drug paraphernalia.

Klauer was released on a $10,000 bond, and is scheduled to be arraigned May 15 at Norwich Superior Court.
