Groton town police to conduct motor vehicle spot checks

Groton — Town police will be conducting motor vehicle spot checks at various locations Thursday in conjunction with the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign.

The spot checks will be conducted at various locations within the town and will focus on seat belt and child restraint system compliance, distracted driving and failure to use hands-free devices.

Additional patrols will be on the streets focusing on these three leading factors in motor vehicle collisions. The minimum fine for a seat belt violation has been raised to $92.
