Norwich — An early morning complaint about a disturbance involving a gun led police to a large party Saturday where police said they found drugs, guns and two small children inside the home.

Police arrived at 53 Convent Ave. at 3:36 a.m. and arrested two brothers, who are convicted felons and suspected drug dealers.

After securing the apartment and obtaining a search warrant with assistance from detectives, police said they seized two guns, which included a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with its serial number obliterated and a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver. Police also seized 17 grams of cocaine, 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, more than 2 ounces of marijuana, three Suboxone strips and $314 in cash.

Phillip Anderson, 38, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, criminal possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, operating a drug factory, two counts of risk of injury to a minor and second-degree threatening.

Darrio Anderson, 34, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police said both men have previous narcotic-related convictions and are barred from possessing a firearm.

Because of the two children at the home, police said the Department of Children and Families was notified and assisted with the investigation.

Phillip Anderson was held in lieu of a $300,000 bond, and Darrio Anderson was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond. Both men are due to appear Monday in Norwich Superior Court.
