    East Lyme man charged with home invasion in Clinton

    Clinton — An East Lyme man was charged Saturday night with home invasion after police say he broke into a home where his wife was and assaulted the man who owned the house.

    Kevin J. Dorothy, 31, of 81 Pattagansett Road, was charged with home invasion, second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Middlesex Superior Court on Monday.

    Police said they responded to a report of a dispute and assault at a home on Walnut Hill Road just before 8 p.m. They said their investigation revealed that Dorothy broke a locked exterior door and confronted two people inside the home. They identified them as Dorothy's wife and the male homeowner.

    Police said Dorothy confronted the pair, and an altercation ensued. They said he assaulted the man, who needed to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was treated for moderate face and head injuries and released

    . Dorothy was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
