Pair charged with selling drugs in the presence of children

Danielson — Two people were arrested Monday night after police said they were selling heroin from their home at 75 Prospect Ave. in the presence of children.

Jamie Krajewski, 25, and Bethany Krajewski, 40, were each charged with possession of a restricted substance, failure to keep narcotics in their original container and risk of injury to a minor. Police did not say how the two are related.

Police said they executed a search-and-seizure warrant at the Prospect Avenue residence at about 5:10 p.m. after an investigation uncovered that heroin was being sold there.

When police entered the home, they said they discovered five children under the age of 10 living in deplorable conditions. The Department of Children and Families took custody of the children, the youngest of which is 6 months old.

Police said they seized 200 prescription tablets and packaging equipment. The tablets were within reach of the children, police said.

Both Krajewskis were released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and are scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Jan. 8.
