    Two children injured in Thursday night's Route 32 crash

    Montville - Two children sustained life-threatening injuries Thursday when the car they were in was involved in a head-on collision on Route 32 in the area of Fort Hill Drive.

    Police said Eliz Flores, 30, of 20 John W. Luty Drive, Oakdale, was driving south on Route 32 while Nicole Savalle, 27, of 289 Buckely Road, Salem, was driving north. Police said the two cars collided head-on, totaling both cars.

    Flores had three juvenile passengers in her car. An unidentified 8-year-old was flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital from the William W. Backus Hospital with what police are calling an "incapacitating injury." A 5-year-old was taken by ambulance from Backus to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 10-year-old juvenile was treated and released from Backus.

    Police said Savalle was also taken to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

    The accident remains under investigation.
