Police arrest suspected crack dealer in Norwich

Norwich - Police on Thursday raided a Norwich hotel room, seized crack cocaine and arrested a suspected crack cocaine dealer along with another man.

Jamie Johnson, 22, of 150 Yantic Street, No. 107, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, sale of crack cocaine and risk of injury to a minor.

Daniel Stravato, 48, of 224 Washington St. was charged with possession of crack cocaine.

The arrest and execution of a search and seizure warrant at the unidentified hotel was the result of a narcotic-related investigation, police said in a statement.

As part of the investigation, police said they seized 20 grams of crack cocaine, items described as drug paraphernalia and more than $600 cash.

Johnson was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond pending an appearance Friday in Norwich Superior Court. Stravato was released on a non-surety bond and is due to appear in court on Feb. 27.
