    Norwich woman charged with prostitution

Norwich — A 28-year-old city woman with a history of arrests for prostitution has once again been charged with the crime.

Caitlyn M. Mayo, 28, of 38 Lincoln Ave., Apt. 3, was charged with prostitution and also served with an arrest warrant for sixth-degree larceny for an incident that occurred in December, police said.

Mayo was arrested after Community Police Officer Chris Chastang observed suspicious activities consistent with prostitution in the area of Central Avenue and North Main Street, police said. Members of the Community Police Unit conducted an undercover operation that led to the arrest, police said.

Mayo was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond. She is due in Norwich Superior Court on Tuesday.

Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood to Norwich Police Department at (860) 886-5561 or to call the Anonymous Tip Line at (860) 886-5561 ext. 500.
