UPDATED: Accident cleared from I-395 North in Norwich

Norwich – One lane of Interstate 395 North in Norwich was closed Tuesday afternoon due to an overturned motor vehicle, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. between Exits 80W and 81E and caused congestion in the area. State police responded with the East Great Plain and Yantic fire departments.

The highway reopened at 5:24 p.m. No further details on the crash were immediately available.
